Prime Eights, Programming and Composition by Jerry DeVore
1:19

This piece is based on the Fibonacci series. A ruffly one minute work, with a significant event 0:37 into the piece. The tonality is based on assigning numbers to the chromatic scale, using the notes/numbers that match the series, and then creating a scale and tonality based upon the scale.

Night (compositional sketch performed on piano by computer), Composition by Jerry DeVore
4:54

This comes from a suite of four works; (1) Going Home, (2) Home, (3) Night, and (4) Prestissimo Bath. It will describe the life outside of the responsibilities of employment. The life “after work” and “before work”. Each work uses only sounds from that time of day and location. The sounds are altered, but not in a way as to losing their meaning. Most cases their use will define their meaning.
Night is a work using the sounds of cars. While trying to sleep in New York City, everyone is surrounded by the sounds and energy of the city. The most prominent are the sounds of the cars. This piece reflects the mind's awareness of those sounds, as it transforms toward the state of sleeping.
This audio is the piano sketch that the piece is built on. I performed the work on piano, while singing the sounds effects. Once the piece was written and I had clear focus on the direction of the sounds, I went to the computer and started programming. The piano sketch is a wonderful work on it's own. Enjoy.

Iceberg, Programming and Composition by Jerry DeVore
0:53

For this piece, I created a sound effect to represent an iceberg. With the audio completed, I used parts of it to create this piece. You'll be able to notice the iceberg falling. This was create by taking the single sound, repeating rapidly until a tone was produced, then altering the pitch of that tone.
